Have you heard that some people have trouble eating a healthy diet? Do you wonder what barriers there are for people that prevent them from eating foods associated with disease prevention? Is it not interesting how many healthy venues there are compared to unhealthy venues?
As such, I thought I would do a little experiment. Join urban and rural Nevada and I investigate constructs of food access. Within the next few months we will be able to discover the answers to questions of per-capita grocer venues, produce counts with quality ratings, and the price differences between a set of food categories’ standard and healthy alternative prices. These constructs will be compared between Las Vegas urban communities, rural Nevada counties and a rural Utahn county; and between a high and low income area of the valley, and a rural Utahn county.
